Jim Root is bringing new things to Fender's table. Rather than Fender custom shop pickups or single-coils, this Strat is sporting dual EMG active humbucking pickups, dripping with heavy tonality.

Compound-radius Fingerboard

As guitarist for Slipknot, Jim needed a guitar that he could play both lead and rhythm parts fast, comfortably, and expertly on. A compound-radius fingerboard gets the job well done, with the radius flattening as it gets closer to the bridge. This makes both chording and soloing easier.
