Jim Root's Dark Take on his Signature Model 

Fender Custom Shop and Jim Root joined forces to design this streamlined Jazzmaster. Rather than incorporating show-off features that could be compromised by touring, Root wanted a guitar that was road-ready yet still visually striking. This model features a satin black finish, one-volume knob, 3-way selector switch, brushed nickel-covered EMG pickups, compound radius neck and much more. Root's deep connection to guitars has produced an instrument that is sure to please musicians who prefer to rock without restrictions.

Mahogany Body/Satin Lacquer 

Mahogany is a choice wood for many guitarists. It's dense and heavy, which gives players the feeling of actually holding something in their hands while they play. This alone makes this guitar travel worthy. The satin lacquer finish on top is absolutely gorgeous, and since it's satin you don't have to worry about smudge marks or noticeable wear on the body after gigging with it for awhile. 

Compound Radius Neck

Compound radius necks are gaining widespread recognition for their usability. The decreased curvature in the higher register of the fretboard facilitates bending and vibrato during solos, while the increased curvature in the lower register aids chording.

EMG Pickups

This signature model features an EMG configuration of an EMG 60 in the neck and an 81 in the bridge. The brushed nickel pickup covers coordinate with the frets, creating a visually pleasing aesthetic. Additionally, a three-way selector switch allows users to find their ideal sound.
