Yamaha YBB-201MWC Convertible BBb Marching Tuba | 4/4 Size

The 201M is a convertible marching tuba for those who need flexibility with their instruments. The same tuba is equally suited for use on the field or in a formal concert performance. The 17-inch bell delivers a rich full sound, yet the tuba is lightweight for carrying ease and offers great cost performance. The marching and concert leadpipe conversion is simple and can be easily accomplished by the player. This particular marching tuba is used by all types of marching ensembles, including the 2002 DCI world champion Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps.

• Hand-lapped pistons: Hand-lapping is a time-consuming finishing process which results in superior valve fit for noiseless, responsive action and easy tone changes.
• Hand-lapped slides: Hand-lapping achieves the perfect balance between airtightness and smooth action.
• Heavy bracing throughout: Because this tuba is used in marching band, it has heavy bracing throughout the instrument to make it more durable at the vulnerable points.
• Convertible leadpipe: The reinforced convertible leadpipe for marching allows the instrument to be played in concert and marching settings. The marching leadpipe also has an extra water key to facilitate drainage while marching. The marching leadpipe can be adjusted so the tuba is held on either the left shoulder or the right shoulder.
• Available feature: This instrument is also available in lacquer finish (YBB-201MWC).
