Rode's new NT1 1 inch diaphragm condenser microphone may closely resemble the NT1-A but do not be fooled.  The only thing these two microphones have in common is the the mesh grille.  The new NT1 has been completely redesigned from the ground up by Rode's design engineers using an approach that can only be described as a marriage of innovation and tradition.  By fusing together artistic design approaches with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, they have managed to create a signature sound that is reminiscent of the the famous microphones from the days of y'orre while exhibiting extremely low noise.

It's development features a focus on detailed midrange response, with high frequencies that are as smooth as mashed potatoes, in addition to a warm, round, bass reproduction that make the NT1 a shining star.  The transducer itself is suspended inside the microphone using Rycote's industry-leading Lyre system which minimizes external vibrations at the capsule level, a first for Rode.  The capsule is then paired with high-grade electronics that are designed to give the lowest level of noise out of any studio microphone available.  Measuring only at 4.5dBA of self-noise, the NT1 is an incredibly quiet microphone with a body that is made from 6061 aluminum that has been nickel plated for resistance against corrosion. Finally the NT1 is coated in an ultra-durable, military-grade ceramic layer, using the latest in electrostatic application techniques developed by Rode to protect it against wear.
The NT1 is paired with Rode's equally revolutionary new SMR shock mount.  Featuring an unique double-Lyre suspension system, the SMR enhances the superior vibration cancellation of Rycote's Lyre system by using a smaller inner Lyre to act as a tensioning element.  This keeps each Lyre in the neutral position where it is most effective at canceling vibration.  The SMR shock mount has a removable all-metal pop filter that is as effective as it is visually striking, providing an integrated solution for plosive protection that is easily washable and designed to last as long as the shock mount and microphone.
Features:
  • Large capsule (1-inch) with gold-plated membrane
  • Cardioid polar pattern
  • Internal Rycote Lyre based capsule shock mounting system
  • Ultra-low noise transformerless circuitry
  • State-of-the-art surface mount electronics
  • Heavy-duty matte black finish
  • Gold plated output connectors
  • SMR shock mount
