'60s "U" Neck Profile

The James Burton telecaster has a "U"-profile neck, which differs from most modern necks. It gives a fuller feel to the fretting hand, and has more wood mass to it, which makes for excellent sustain and tonality.

Special James Burton Single-coil Pickups

Fender worked with James Burton on every detail of his signature model, including the pickups. Each of these three single-coil pickups were specially designed and voiced by Burton himself.

S-1 Switch

In addition to Strat-O-Tele five-way switching, the James Burton Tele has an S-1 switch built into the top of the volume knob. This activates series circuitry for pickup switch positions two and four.
