The Electro Harmonix Ripped Speaker Pedal is a modern interpretation of classic fuzz tones. With low fuzz settings, the pedal offers lo-fi distortion tones like those created with a razor blade on a speaker cone, a loose tube, or a damaged console channel. At higher settings, the sound is modern and soaring with intense, fully saturated fuzz. The pedal's RIP knob is a bias control which sets the amount of clipping to customize the fuzz's character. At noon, the fuzz is balanced with a great low-end and sharp top-end. Clockwise dialing adds a gated effect, while counter-clockwise creates a smoother fade-out. The active TONE knob boosts or cuts frequencies for a tilt-shift EQ. It's powered by a 9 Volt battery, or an EHX 9 Volt power supply, with true bypass switching.
