The Ibanez BTB series, with its 35" extra-long scale and through-neck construction, was designed to deliver both a thick, core bass note and long sustain that would never be buried in a band ensemble. The BTB-MS is a multi-scale model that retains the basic concept of the BTB series and focuses on clarity in the bass string range, compatibility with down-tuned and heavy gauge strings, and ease of fingering in the high fret range.

Unlike the SR-MS, which was developed from the beginning of the BASS Workshop with the theme of "a multi-scale that is easy to play for many people," the BTB-MS, which uses a 37" bass string side and a 35" treble string side, is not for all bass players, but for those who prefer to play in a different scale. The BTB-MS is a "stoic bass" that further accentuates the bass's inherent low register and pushes the possibilities of sound and phrasing in the high register to their limits.

Long sustain, rich resonance, and high rigidity through-neck construction

The 5pc neck is made of maple and hard walnut for clear sound image and attack. The rigidity is reinforced by graphite rods installed inside the neck.

The through-neck construction provides long sustain and rich resonance, and the seamless feel of the neck back across the entire fret range is one of the greatest features of the BTB bass.

6-string side: 37"~1-string side: 34.5" extra long multi-scale

By setting the scale of the low-B string (6th string) to 37", the tension on the low strings is stronger than that of the regular BTB model, and this gives the bass more clarity and core when tuned down.

The multi-scale is the most extreme fan shape on an Ibanez bass, which is especially beneficial for technical fingering in the high fret range. (Note: This is not universal to all players and playing styles, as it takes practice and familiarity.)
