The History

In 1950, the Fender Broadcaster® saw its first production run only to be confronted with a cease-and-desist from the Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co. the following year. As a result, the brand renamed its groundbreaking electric guitar, creating the iconic blackguard Telecaster® in 1951. This instrument, renowned for its simplicity and innovation, has been produced continuously since, bringing solid body electrics to the masses and inspiring generations of players.

The American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster features an ash body finished in Butterscotch Blonde, replicating the original's tone and look. The strong '51 “U”-shaped maple neck boasts a 7.25” radius fingerboard and vintage tall frets for a smooth playability. Crafted to reflect 1951 production, the 12th fret spacing is narrower and the guitar has a single Phillips-head fastener at the truss rod nut. The triple brass saddle bridge, single-line “Fender Deluxe” tuners, and Pure Vintage '51 Telecaster pickups provide classic twang and quintessential Fender style.
